Web video star GeoHot just did a quick demo of his untethered iPhone /iPod Touch jailbreak. That’s right – you just have to put something on your device – and not directly connect it to your computer – and it will jailbreak that heck out of it in a few minutes. It’s just like the old days when you could download an image on the original iPhone and suddenly jailbreak it. While the video doesn’t explain anything , it’s nice to see America’s youth busily attending to the major issues of the day, especially if that issue is jailbreaking the iPad when it comes out next week.

How much are you willing to spend on a so-called portable gaming headset? $50? $100? How about $150? Anyone? What if I told you that it would also work with your computer as well as your iPhone, PSP, and Xbox Live account? Still no one? Yeah, that’s what I thought. The Astro A30 is marketed to portable gamers. The thought here is that these folks probably want the very best audio on the go and won’t mind touting around large cans with their small PSPgo. I get that. But they cost a whooping $149, which is expensive for a standard issue gaming headset that would never leave your desk. These, however, come with all sorts of cables and adapters so they’ll work on every platform. I guess it’s up to you and your bank account if you get this set, although I would probably wait until some reviews appear.

Welcome to the future of digital photography, friends. This $25 camera measures 13.5 millimeters thick and takes what I can only assume to be mind-blowingly detailed 640

JVC in Japan today announced [JP] the NC-SP1, an ultra-slim active speaker that’s just 34mm thick and can be connected to your computer via USB. Marketed as a device that’s particularly suitable for presentations, it supports Windows XP/Vista/7 and Mac OS X 10.4 machines and requires just one USB port. The 12W×2ch (4Ω) speaker is sized at 300×34×186mm. Because it weighs just 1.2kg, JVC is marketing the NC-SP1 as being “portable”. The device will go on sale in Japan at the end of March for $400. JVC hasn’t said yet if it ever will become available outside Japan as well.
