SMU vs Texas Tech
The Texas Tech Red Raiders gave a staggering performance last year and ended up third in BIG 12 South after earning three straight games to their game, finishing the year. The Red Raiders took down the Michigan State Spartans in the Alamo Bowl 41-31 last year while finishing an average season.
The Texas Tech Red Riders, after having a good start and with two wins at home their morale was high. And the Texas Tech Red Raiders went for a meeting with their in state rivals the Texas Longhorns for a conclave in the third week.
The Texas suffered a crushing defeat with 34-24 against Longhorns and that was not all, their fate seemed to be with them for few more matches and in their next match with 17th ranked Houston, their fate seemed to be stuck at losing and had another defeat from Houston, sorrow for the Red Raider players, fans and supporters. As for Houston, they made a record of their first ever win over Big 12 opponent 29-28.
With the will to ameliorate upon their 11-2 season in 2008, the Texas Tech became very much worried about upholding the eligibility of bowl after reaching the Cotton Bowl.
But with some good luck they were able to turn the tables and gave a whimsical performance and ended the season with a nice fine 9-4. With the beginning of new year, 2010, begins the new era for Texas Tech football with some amendments in their coach who is now Tommy Tuberville, the former Auburn head, replacement of head coach Mike Leach.
