SMU vs Texas Tech

The Texas Tech Red Raiders gave a staggering performance last year and ended up third in BIG 12 South after earning three straight games to their game, finishing the year. The Red Raiders took down the Michigan State Spartans in the Alamo Bowl 41-31 last year while finishing an average season.

The Texas Tech Red Riders, after having a good start and with two wins at home their morale was high. And the Texas Tech Red Raiders went for a meeting with their in state rivals the Texas Longhorns for a conclave in the third week.

The Texas suffered a crushing defeat with 34-24 against Longhorns and that was not all, their fate seemed to be with them for few more matches and in their next match with 17th ranked Houston, their fate seemed to be stuck at losing and had another defeat from Houston, sorrow for the Red Raider players, fans and supporters. As for Houston, they made a record of their first ever win over Big 12 opponent 29-28.

With the will to ameliorate upon their 11-2 season in 2008, the Texas Tech became very much worried about upholding the eligibility of bowl after reaching the Cotton Bowl.

But with some good luck they were able to turn the tables and gave a whimsical performance and ended the season with a nice fine 9-4. With the beginning of new year, 2010, begins the new era for Texas Tech football with some amendments in their coach who is now Tommy Tuberville, the former Auburn head, replacement of head coach Mike Leach.

Firefall Game Announcement

If you are an RPG (role playing game) votary then the Firefall is the game for you. Just like World of Warcraft, Tribes and many more the Firefall falls the same category. The developers of the game, Red Five Studios, have recently declared their debut game and the game is getting pretty good response from the gamers. They are getting a lot of feedback as well as buzz from the votaries of such genre. The best thing is the brains behind the game are the same who were behind the idea and creation of original World of Warcraft game many years back.

Firefall is massive multiplayer shooting game and it looks like that has all the things that an excellent game should possess. It is blend of all the best current games. But there is one thing that is best about this game is that is for free. You neither have to pay any monthly subscription nor does it require any software purchasing, yeah yippee. The release date of the game has not been declared yet but it will be released somewhere in 2011. So until the game is not released there would be much anticipation regarding the game. But for some desperate gamers who want to get a hold of this game, they can go and test the Firefall at the website by registering themselves. Initially Firefall has been put for only beta testing.

Xbox Live Gold membership rises.

The subscription price for Xbox Live Gold is going to be increased starting from November of this year. Major Nelson had announced that the in the coming months the memberships of Xbox Live Gold will be increasing.

From November 1st the prices are going to vacillate each month onward. One month the prices will fluctuate from $7.99 to $9.99; three months will be vacillating from $19.99 to $24.99; and a one year membership will be varying from $49.99 to $59.99.

Although no logical reason has been provided for the increase in prices but as far as the rumors or what is available on the internet, the increase in prices can be outcome of kinect related items and Hulu. But the prices will be added soon.

You can renew your subscription for one year and one year only, at the discounted rate of $40 through Microsoft (on your console or xbox.com). Besides this you can find number of retailers online who is offering the similar $40 for a subscription card but there is no limit to it on how many you can purchase. The retailers are famous Amazon and Newegg.

Soon the retailers are going to put their subscription cards at discounted price of $40; they will probably do in the coming weeks. Start hoarding money from today for the cheaper price to be paid tomorrow.

Bobcats take the first match 27-0

The first football match in the inter high school league kicked off between the Floydada Whirlwinds against Sunray Bobcats in Amarillo. There was an electric feel in the air before the match as this match summoned the opening of the season that will see many teams competing for the crown of High school Football champions. The spectators were all expecting a really good game of football, with many of them having their faces painted with the colors of their favorite team. They also had flags and banners in their hands for supporting their team.

The match started with a few jittery moments from both teams but they soon settled down and found the necessary speed and nimbleness to go about their natural game. Both the teams were really fired up and trying their utmost to win this first match. The match went about with no major incident marring the proceedings. The technique of the Bobcats was better then the Whirlwinds which saw them scoring some great touchdowns and the end results were a complete whitewash of the Whirlwinds by the Bobcats, the scores being 27 – 0. This result was most unprecedented to the Whirlwind fans who were expecting their team to fight back and score some touchdowns after the initial setback, but were left disappointed by their team’s lackluster performance.

The next match is scheduled to be contested between Longhorns and Whirlwinds. These two sides have a long time rivalry between them so expect this match to be more closely contested.

Little League World Series 2010: Three Reasons To Watch

The Little World Series has started again and it’s looking pretty captivating even from the beginning. The young blood is showing their potential which has not amazed the fans and spectators but also the professionals.

So why should one give ones time to it?

Well, it creates an atmosphere to communism as the entire town hits to Williamsport, Pennsylvania to cheer up for the favorite Little League team. If you are still not convinced there are few coherent reasons why should one pay attention to these 12 year old players which are as follows.

1)      If you remember the 2001 Little League World Series, there was a child named Danny Almonte which was considered to be next Nolan Ryan, but later it was found that he was not eligible for the LLWS because of age issues. But any ways the point is LLWS provides the talent to be recognized by the connoisseurs.

2)      One other thing is the comradeship that these kids show. Children from around the globe participate which creates a sense of harmony among them. They become friends within weeks and manifest sportsmanship that many players are short of.

3)      This baseball game is a bit different from the regular baseball game, rules and regulations are the same but the difference starts from the intake of steroids. These kids are almost untouched by the drugs and steroids and there is another thing ‘ego’. All these kids care about is giving their best rather than fertilizing egos.

Video: What does Modern Warfare 2 look like when played on six monitors?

Man alive, how great would it be to be rich? You could afford crazy things like, I don’t know, new shoes, healthy food, and six 20-inch monitors to play Modern Warfare 2 with. That’s the dream. So as you can see, the game scales quite well across all six screens—the only “glitch” occurs when text gets cut off at the bezel of the TV. ATI’s Eyefinity technology makes this magic possible. The 5800 series of cards (and up, presumably) allow you to span compatible games across several screens. It’s not something you’re going to find at a Best Buy demo area or whatever, so people were freaking out while they passed by. Pretty neat, I thought.

More here:

PAX East 2010: The oddest Street Fighter battle you’e ever seen

You’ll find no one here who’s not down for a round or two (or 10) of Street Fighter . No one! In fact, I’m half-convinced that that’s Greg under that helmet. There’s a room set aside here at PAX for free play, where you can take a load off and try your hand at Heavy Rain , Bayonetta , New Super Mario Bros. Wii , and, of course, Street Fighter IV . I can guarantee that even ol’ Blockhead here would destroy me in the game.

See the rest here:

iPad games we’d love to see

After news of the HD and XL iPad versions of some of our favorite games are on their way – Flight Control being one of my personal obsessions – we thought it would be fun to ponder what other boardgames would make for a fun iPad experience. Here’s our list. What would you guys like to see? Carcassonne – If you’ve never split a few bottles of wine (or tequila ) and played Carcassonne , you haven’t lived. To be able to play this with a few people on the iPad would be amazing and you wouldn’t have to carry all those cards around. The game is pretty simple – you put down random cards to build cities, roads, and farms. You place a knight on a card to claim it and get the knight back when you’ve completed a feature. However, it’s amazingly addictive and an iPad version would be great. Sim City – This game is already out on the iPhone but a version on a larger, more readable screen would be great. Civilization V – While I could spend most of my life playing Civ Rev on the iPhone, why not go nuts and rebuild Civ V for the iPad? I would totally pay a few dozen dollars for this. Burnout iPad Edition – My son and I have been playing Burnout Paradise like fiends lately and a big-screen, motion aware version of Burnout would make us both happy. Monopoly – This next set of games are boardgame classics. First up – Monopoly . It’s a no brainer. Connect 4 – There are only knock off versions of Connect 4 on the App Store right now, but a big screen version would be great. Battleship – The current version if iPhone Battleship looks great but why not buy two iPads so you can recreate Battleship in all it’s “You sunk my…” glory? Then again, maybe not. Air Hockey – This is totes magotes one of my favorites. The iPhone version is great for two players and an iPad version would be even better. Incredible Machine – Remember this insanity? The Incredible Machine was a 1990s Rube Goldberg video game dedicated to teaching kids how to make things work together. I haven’t played it in years but a 3D, Enigmo-esque version would be great. Planetfall – One of the original Infocom classics . Listen: the iPad has a usable keyboard and can support external keyboards. Why not slap together an Infocom pack for $2 and sell some imagination to these whippersnappers. Who’s with me?

Voice actor who played Half-Life 2’s Dr. Breen has passed away

Remember the rash of celebrity deaths last year? Well this one just affected me more than all of those combined. The voice actor who played Dr. Wallace Breen , of Half-Life 2 fame, has passed away . Sad news is sad. Robert Culp died after falling in an unnamed Los Angeles park. He was 79. He did other stuff besides utterly creeping you out as you fought your way across City 17. Did you know he co-starred, alongside Bill Cosby, on a TV show in the 1960s called “I Spy”? I certainly didn’t know that. He also played Ray Romano’s father-in-law in “Everybody Loves Raymond.” But to us gamers, yes, he will forever be known as Dr. Breen, the Earth Administrator who tried convincing us of the futility of resisting the Combine. Y’all might want to check out Edge magazine this month, since there’s a pretty great feature talking to Valve on how they made Half-Life 2 so damn good. I’ve actually replaying through the game of late—pretty crazy that a five-year-old FPS has never been topped.
