A little update on Conan O’Brien , seeing as though we spent a couple of days there talking about his every move. The man is taking his show on the road, bringing the funny to a city near you in the coming weeks! It’s the called “ The Legally Prohibited From Being Funny On Television Tour ,” and I’m sure it’ll be wonderful. Conan made the announcement on Twitter a few hours ago, but there’s really not a whole lot of info. Presumably it’ll be the things you know and love from the show, but in a Broadway-like setting. The show begins touring in April, kicking off in Eugene, Oregon, which could be the strangest place to kick off a tour I’ve ever seen. Good for Coco. They’re in New York on June 1 and June 2. Do I go or not go?

You may recall the minor hullabaloo around the time of the iPad launch that Chinese company Great Long Brother had released a tablet well before Apples that shares a certain distinctive design. They threatened to sue Apple for mimicking their own P88, though it’d be clear to a purblind marmoset that the P88 was mimicking the iPhone. Well, things have taken a turn for the absurd. GLB has re-skinned their Windows tablet to look like OS X , though somehow I think we’ll be able to tell the difference.

Here’s a fairly egregious example of wasteful packaging sent by Quantum to a buddy of mine. The boxes they are unpacking contain Quantum’s licensing agreements, two single sheets of paper that were shipped in their own boxes, wrapped in bubble wrap, and contained in one main box also full of bubble wrap. Luckily they stopped shipping each sheet of paper inside the carcass of an endangered sea turtle like they used to. That was really egregious. Have you guys seen any other examples of horrible packaging?

Moogs, memory banks, and Moroder. What sucks is this guy probably was still using Moogs up until just before all of the gear in his studio went obsolete, stubbornly clinging to all of that good stuff until the end. Sadly, Giorgio hasn’t done much since the Neverending Story II back in 1990 but he was recently inducted in the Dance Music Hall of Fame, a great honor for the man that brought Donna Summer the groove. via BB

I knew you had to pay a little extra to get Windows , but $100,000 to get Linux on your Mini 10n netbook ? Good lord! What are the manuals written on? The skin of unicorns? Thanks, GT!

Out here in the fields I fight for space meals I get my back into my monkey I don’t need to fight To prove I’m right I don’t need to a carabiner. The folks at ThinkGeek performed the intro to Baba O’Reilly (don’t call it “Teenage Wasteland,” dude) on gear from their store. They’re funny. To be honest, it’s a damn good song. via WHILL WHEATON
