Just last week Dell Home dropped the 32GB Zune HD down to $240 and we called it the great price drop in the history of price drops. We were wrong. The 32GB and 16GB versions just got another price drop and it’s HUGE . The 32GB is now a clean $199 with the 16GB now fetching $140 . You don’t need a coupon code, secret pass or anything. These prices are for everyone and might signal an official Micrsoft price cut is coming soon. Google Shopping still pegs the Zune HD 32GB at $240 everywhere else so we really don’t know what’s going on with Dell. Maybe it’s a mistake, maybe it isn’t. But $199 is the price point that the Zune HD 32GB needs to be at in order to have a fighting chance against the iPod touch .
This is obviously a much older Nano but at $48 for 1GB , I may get this for my Dad so he can listen to Roy Orbison albums. Again, not amazingly great but $48? Pretty good. Never before has something so small held so many possibilities. The 1 GB Apple iPod nano holds up to 240 songs and will display full color album art and photos. It also handles Podcasts, Audiobooks, Games, clocks, contacts and calendars. All in an iPod that weighs less than a single CD case. Now that’s huge. At only .27 inches thin and 1.5 ounces, iPod nano packs a lot into its diminutive design. Get up to 14 hours of battery life and 1 full GB of storage. It also features a 1.5″ bright LCD screen, the Apple Click Wheel, and a Dock connector that fits an entire ecosystem of iPod accessories. With so many features like these, iPod nano can change the way you listen to music and more.
Skoofy — a site I’ve never seen before today but appears to be a dog-themed Woot clone — has a nice deal on an HP printer. It’s just a basic Deskjet model (D2660), but it’s only $28.99 and comes with brand spanking new ink. Normally the printer sells for $49.99 with additional ink cartages fetching $31.99 for a combo black and color pack. Do you see the deal here? The damn printer costs less than the ink cartages. Of course the deal is only good for a limited time and expires 11 hours from the time I wrote this, but the moral of the story is that HP ink is ridiculously overpriced. [ Skoofy via deals.Woot ]
Dear friend, I hope the letter carriers get this utmost urgent note to you on time. If so, there’s still a good chance that you’ll be able to acquire a brand new Toshiba Blu-ray player for only $99. Think of your children. They need a Blu-ray player but not at the expense of other things. But this one from Newegg is so inexpensive that I hope you’ll be able to forgo a few speakeasy trips this month to cover it. You must, friend, you must. But hurry! T he deal is only good until 1:00pm PDT .
Roku’s HD player is a great deal at $99, but it’s an even better deal if you buy one now from Amazon. In addition to having a great Netflix box, you’ll also be able to use Amazon’s Video of Demand service, and to get you started they’ll throw in $20 worth of credit. That’s a pretty good deal, considering that a movie like The Hurt Locker rents for $3.99, or you can rent a TV show for about $3 an episode (watch Human Target, seriously). You’ll give $99 for the Roku HD or $129.99 for the Roku HD-XR, and then Amazon will credit your account so you can start renting as soon as you get the box hooked up. Better hurry though, because the deal is only good until the 31st .
For the child who has everything, we present the Threadless $10 sale . The sale lasts until 3/20 at 10AM Central, so hurry up. I think the most important shirt in the bunch is DaddyTypes’ favorite , the Michael, shown here. Then there’s the You Really Grate On Me for kids who are absolutely horrible.
I’ve been waiting patiently for some time to replace my small 4-port gigabit switch and it paid off. This is one heck of a deal. You get both a Rosewill 10/100/1000Mbps switch and a gigabit networking card for only $30. No need to rush, the deal is good until the end of the month.
It’s not a huge deal – $7 off – but if you’re in the market for a new DS, maybe to rock some Pokemon (now with Pokewalkers! ™ ) eCost has a rectified DS Lite (not the DSi) for $88. Obviously this thing is refurbished so don’t expect it to have that new Mario smell – an admixture of garlic and patchoulli, judging by Mario’s dreams in Super Mario World 2 – but it’s black and it’s fun for the whole family.
Amazon is selling Futurama: The Complete Collection on DVD for $85, today only. The box set features 18 discs and over 33 hours of content. All your favorite characters are there: Bender, Fry, one-eyed Peg Bundy, you name it. Aside from all the episodes, you’ll get some other goodies as well. According to the product description: “Comic Con Exclusive includes all four volumes of Futurama, as well as 4 feature-length adventures: Bender’s Big Score, The Beast With A Billion Backs, Bender’s Game, Into the Wild Green Yonder all contained in a limited edition collectible Bender Head with a numbered letter from Matt Groening and David X. Cohen.” The collection normally sells on Amazon for $120 and, again, the deal’s good today only. Futurama: The Complete Collection [Amazon.com]
