The match between New York Giants and Indianapolis colts saw a rare helmet throwing incident by the New York Giants, Brandon Jacob.
The match that was played at Indianapolis saw Brandon Jacob show off his anger, after he was shown the bench.
According to Jacobs, he never threw the helmet into the stands intentionally, rather, it slipped out of his hands and the helmet landed somewhere in the stands.
However, the helmet throwing tantrums by Jacobs created some sort of drama in the stands, where the helmet eventually landed. The fans began throwing verbal volleys towards Brandon Jacobs, and in return Jacobs too, handed out verbal volleys.
The show went on for a while, but the real drama unfolded when fans decided not to return the Giants helmet.
It was a tussle of some sort; some reports indicate that finally officials were able to get the helmet back in return for a match ball, though nothing is confirmed yet.
It won’t be a surprise if NFL starts an investigation to mount disciplinary pressures in order to avoid further angry outbursts from the players in future.
Brandon Jacob’s action might make NFL take his action seriously, as no sports bodies would want a fan to be in danger, due to reckless attitude of players.
After all, fans bring money to the sport.
Though, the helmet throwing incident by Brandon Jacob is thought of as an accident, rather than deliberate intended throw, still strict disciplinary measures could be in the offing to prevent such incidents in the future.
