Los Angeles Lakers’ Matt Barnes Arrested for Domestic Violence
Sports Thursday, September 9th, 2010While cops are not releasing the name of the woman in the case, we are guessing it is safe to mention it had been his ex-fiance (however still girlfriend and mother of his children) “Basketball Wife” Gloria Govan. She was described as “a lady who lived along with him and with whom he had a dating relationship.”
Matt was arrested in Sacramento, CA around 4:16PM yesterday after a domestic violence circumstance went down at his home. Cops arrived to the scene following an “unfinished 911 call” was placed. Both parties–Matt as well as the “mystery woman”–had noticeable injuries. Matt was charged with suspicion of domestic violence AND violent obstruction of the usage of a telephone line. So essentially the woman was attempting to contact the cops and he prevented her from doing so.
Needless to say, Matt took to twitter plus the News to assert his innocence as soon as posting his $50,000 bond around 9:15pm last night:
“I was the victim but still got arrested.”
The report furthermore shows that Barnes in addition text May, “You see any domestic violence situation 9 out of 10 times the male gets arrested. That is the situation here. I had been the victim however still got arrested. It doesn’t matter what I say everyone is going to think what they want…”
