Boulder Colorado Fire Destroys Buildings
Headlines Monday, September 6th, 2010A wildfire in Colorado, named the “Boulder Fire” from the media, continues to be spreading across the Colorado foothills, prompting evacuations today. There are reports of destroyed buildings but luckily nobody has ended up injured so far.
The blaze seems to have started in the Four Mile Canyon northwest of Boulder, where heavy smoke was surrounding the area. On account of the fire, roads needed to be closed while authorities estimate the scale from the Boulder fire.
Several evacuation centers are in place in Boulder as well as the village of Nederland, while shelter for livestock have been developed on the Boulder County Fairgrounds in Longmont.
The source of the blaze rest unknown. There are reports of destroyed buildings, though at the moment authorities have no idea exactly where they are located or the number of buildings that are affected.
