Apple’s LIVE VIDEO Streaming From September 2010
Tech Wednesday, September 1st, 2010If you didn’t get an invitation to Apple’s September 1st music themed event, worry not because you can still watch it live streamed. According to the Apple’s officials the press conference will be released live streamed at 10AM PT, pretty cool and innovative.
You can log on to live video from Apple.com, but there are some restrictions to it. Those who possess Apple goodies are only allowed and are able to watch that live streamed press conference. Here a bit for viewing press release you need to have either of these things Mac® running Safari® on Mac OS®X version 10.6 Snow Leopard®, an iPhone® or iPod touch® running iOS 3.0 or higher, or an iPad™.
So why putting such restriction and why only Mac users could log on to live video stream? There is a logical explanation for this restriction. According to some bits on internet, the live stream that Apple will broadcast will be of internally developed HTTP Live Streaming Protocol which would require either a Mac running Safari on Mac OS X version 10.6, an iPhone or iPod touch running iOS 3.0 or higher or an iPad. Apple’s latest technology which is Apple’s multimedia player and framework called QuickTime X will be used in live streamed protocol. There are number of benefits of it and among those one is that it makes it easier for the broadcasters to use a standard Web server rather than using special media server.
