Iran’s first unmanned bomber aircraft has been launched
Headlines Sunday, August 22nd, 2010In a major boost to its own military capabilities, Iran has gone a step further and developed its own bomber aircraft.
The aircraft, which is said to have a range of 1000 kilometres, was inaugurated on Sunday by Iran’s president Ahmadinejad. Iran’s bomber aircraft is unmanned, and it has a length of 4 metres, with capacity to carry 4 cruise missiles.
However, the range of aircraft striking prowess is not enough to trouble Israel. Israel is far than the aircrafts’ range of 1000 kilometres.
Iran’s president Ahmadinejad in his inauguration speech has said that the aircraft is an ambassador of death for the enemies of Iran.
The self development of a bomber aircraft is seen as a major step by Iran to reinforce its military capabilities.
Iran has its own arms program, where it develops surveillance aircrafts, and other military needs.
The US arms sanction against Iran in the 80’s forced Iran to have its own arms development program.
The bomber aircraft travels at speeds up to 1000 kilometres an hour, and it has a capacity to carry guided bombs.
Iran’s military capabilities have surely gained in strength, after two major military accomplishments in the past 3 days.
The first was a test of liquid fuelled surface to surface missile on Friday. The Qiam 1 is said to have modern inbuilt alert and guidance technologies.
