Tiger woods’ may find it hard to win this year’s British open, as others at St Andrews have come up with some descent performances. Tiger Woods score of 5-under-67 is without a doubt, a good score, but his achievements today were strewn aside by some very good performances in the course.
John Daly scored a 66, and it tells you that Woods won’t find the going easy at British open this year.
Though, Woods did strike the ball well, and it seemed that he has adjusted quite well with his new putter. After all the drama surrounding wood’s former Putter, it was a welcome round for Woods at St Andrew’s old course, where the pitch was easy.
His show in round one of the British open this year, surely had given the confidence and impetus which Woods needed to prolong further in the open. On any given day, Tiger Woods might have shot 10 under, but not today, he remained contend with a score of 67.
The way Woods performed today, it remains to be seen, how long it would take him to get his mind fully off the drama which took place 8 months ago. His opening stint at British Open suggests he may have to work extremely hard to pursue Jack Nicklaus record 18 major titles.
Friday and Saturday is perhaps, very significant, and if Tiger can raise his game and start producing results, then he would probably be confident enough on Sunday, before the eventual round.
