Natural Exercise: Basic Bodyweight Training and Calisthenics for Strength and Weight-Loss
, has recently released a book designed to teach basic bodyweight exercises and calisthenics to people who are interested in getting into shape.
The book, entitled “Natural Exercise: Basic Bodyweight Training and Calisthenics for Strength and Weight-Loss,” teaches over a dozen bodyweight exercises which were chosen and grouped together to create a complete, total body workout.
Although Barrett does teach the reader how to do a full suite of exercises designed to both build muscle mass and burn body fat with each workout, that is only part of the value of the book. He also goes into detail to discuss such topics as proper breathing, nutrition, joint health, and other popular concerns which often go overlooked in such publications.
Beyond that, there is a very thorough treatment related to the idea of properly understanding how to create one’s own workout schedule. A variety of sample workouts catering to the needs of different readers are provided, but the book also provides the information needed to develop your own schedule which will be difficult enough to get results, but not so difficult as to be discouraging.
Bodyweight exercises, calisthenics, and other bodyweight training is used by almost every military organization in the world, and by many elite athletes. It is one of the most convenient forms of exercise in that it requires little or no equipment and can essentially be performed anywhere.
